Accessories: six slots, 30 to collect

Facts checked 2026-10-28

Quick answer

Soul equips six accessories at once, and their bonuses stack with weapon upgrades. The trophy asks for 30 collected; the pre-order Treasure Basin adds 10% to Remnant Dust drops.

Accessories are the quiet half of your build. Weapons decide how you fight; accessories decide how long you last and how much a break window is worth. Soul can wear six at once, and the trophy list asks you to collect 30 of them.

They are also the easiest thing to neglect, because the game never stops you to explain them. This page does.

Six slots is a lot of room for error, so the honest advice is to fill them with whatever you have and refine later. An empty slot is worse than a mediocre accessory. The 2024 demo exposed fewer slots, while preview coverage of the release build describes six; if your equipment screen disagrees, trust the screen and treat six as the intended cap.

What accessories actually do

The launch build's accessories fall into four rough groups:

  • Flat stats. Attack, defence, health. Boring, reliable, and the right choice while you are learning a boss.
  • Resistances. Damage-type and status resistance, which matter more in the late regions than the early ones.
  • Drop and economy. The pre-order Treasure Basin is the known example: it raises Remnant Dust drop rate by 10%.
  • Conditional bonuses. Effects that trigger on parry, on low health or on a break. These are the ones that change a build.

The Treasure Basin is worth calling out because 10% more Remnant Dust compounds across a whole playthrough. It is a pre-order item, but S-GAME states the same content can be obtained through in-game progression, so late-game players are not locked out.

A sensible loadout while you learn

  1. Two flat defence pieces.
  2. One resistance piece matched to the region's dominant damage type.
  3. One economy piece if you are still upgrading weapons.
  4. Two conditional pieces once you know which mechanic you trigger most — parry, dodge or break.

Swap the conditional pieces per boss. That is the entire optimisation: the flat pieces stay, the situational ones move.

Collecting 30 without grinding

Thirty sounds worse than it is. Accessories come from three streams: main-story progression, optional levels, and Tales. If you finish the side content in each region, the count arrives on its own; if you beeline the story, you will finish with roughly half.

The collectibles page maps the streams; the Tales page covers the quest chains that hand out the rarer pieces. Neither requires a guide-specific route: clear a region before you leave it and the trophy takes care of itself.

FAQ

Do accessories have levels?

No. They are fixed pieces with fixed effects. The progression is in finding better ones, not upgrading them.

Can I wear duplicates?

Nothing stops you, but two copies of the same flat-stat piece usually lose to one copy plus a conditional effect.

Is the Treasure Basin worth a pre-order?

If you plan to upgrade several weapons, yes: 10% more Remnant Dust across a full run is the most practical pre-order bonus in the package. The outfit is cosmetic; this is not.

Which accessory is best?

The one that answers the boss in front of you. There is no universal best piece, and the six-slot layout exists so you can swap without rebuilding.
